Skillet is proud to fill the walk in fridge and freezer with as much Pacific Northwest ingredients as possible. Whenever we can, we support local businesses that purchase from sustainable farms in the region. The reason, we love this area for all the home grown food!
Eggs: We use organic eggs from Stiebrs Farms, in Yelm, WA. To ensure their eggs are the freshest and best, they maintain their own organic feed mill. Their pasture raised hens have a free, happy, healthy life.
Beef: We use natural and sustainable meats from Niman Ranch. A California company focused on sourcing Midwest and Pacific Northwest meats and specialty ingredients from small family farmers using sustainable farming traditions. Their high standards product a higher quality meat.
Produce: We use distributor Charlie’s Produce. They supply us with a full range of conventional, organic and specialty produce. Always fresh and delicious and our go to for great seasonal items.
Bread: We use rustic European breads from Macrina Bakery & Cafe, particularly brioche bread and the Rustic Potato Rolls. Macrina uses Northwest-sourced, natural ingredients and organic grains whenever possible. That commitment to quality shows how much they love baking.
Chicken: We use chicken from the sustainable Draper Valley Farms in Mount Vernon, WA. Their chickens are humanely raised in a stress free environment for a natural and humane method of farming. Humanly raised means that they are free range, with outdoor access and their spacious coop has plenty of light. They give a vegetarian feed to the chickens and never add antibiotics, hormones, steroids, animal fats, gmo’s or preservatives.
Mushrooms: We use mushrooms and other off beat items from Foraged and Found Edibles in Seattle, WA. Their products are harvested throughout the Pacific Northwest, from northern California to southern British Columbia. They truly understand a forest and how to find the best the Pac NW has to offer.
Meat: We use natural and sustainable meats from Corfini Gourmet. Corfini is a local foodservice distributor here in Seattle, WA whose focus is sourcing local meats and specialty ingredients from nearby farmers.
Beer: We use Seattle local Seapine Brewing Company. They are dedicated to brewing classic styles and strive for perfection in every pint. They support Washington farmers and vendors like us! They believe and we agree that locally made beer is the freshest and best beer around!
Seafood: We use the Pacific Seafood Group for our fish. They are committed to gathering sustainable seafood. They understand that seafood is a resource and the environment is our responsibility to leave as good or better condition than they find it.
Dairy: We use dairy from distributor Medosweet Farms in Kent, WA. They select the finest dairy from local farmers throughout Washington State. They use environmentally responsible milk crates that can be washed a reused so that cardboard or other packaging materials are not wasted. This means we get locally raised, rBST free dairy products sustainably delivered direct to our coolers.
Coffee: We use Caffe Vita here in Seattle, WA. They are pioneers of the Farm Direct movement, meticulously sourcing the best coffee available while developing long-term, mutually fruitful relationships with coffee growers in more than 11 countries. They work with and invest in farmers who are committed to sustainable practices. They are always fresh, imported directly from the farm and roasted on-site.
